One of the largest mosques in the world, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi accommodates over 40,000 worshippers across its marble-clad courtyards and domed prayer halls. The building incorporates over eighty domes and four minarets rising to 107 metres, with surfaces inlaid with semi-precious stones and the world's largest hand-knotted carpet covering the main prayer hall floor. The reflective pools surrounding the mosque create exceptional mirror-image compositions at dawn and dusk.
