Lugano

Lugano is the largest city in the Italian-speaking canton of Ticino, situated on the northern shore of Lake Lugano. The lakefront promenade, palm trees, and piazza cafés reflect the city's Mediterranean character, distinct from the German-speaking Swiss cities to the north. Monte San Salvatore and Monte Brè rise on either side of the city, reachable by funicular, and provide elevated views over the lake and its wooded peninsulas.
