Vintgar Gorge is a narrow canyon carved by the Radovna River a few kilometres north of Lake Bled, walkable along a series of wooden boardwalks attached to the canyon walls above the rushing water. Over about 1.6 kilometres the gorge passes through tunnels, across bridges, and beside emerald pools before reaching the Sum waterfall at its terminus. The combination of close rock walls, green water, and dappled forest light makes the gorge a highly photographed subject.
