Antipaxos is an islet of about five square kilometres south of Paxos, inhabited by only a few permanent residents but widely visited in summer for the exceptional clarity and colour of its two main beaches, Vrika and Voutoumi. The water at Voutoumi in particular is often described as among the most transparent in the Ionian Sea, with a turquoise clarity unusual even by Greek island standards. The island's vineyards produce a sweet wine consumed locally.
