Arthur's Seat is an ancient volcano rising 251 metres above sea level within Holyrood Park in the centre of Edinburgh, forming the dominant natural feature of the city's skyline. The summit can be reached by several paths from the park's lower paths and provides a 360-degree view taking in the city, the Firth of Forth, and on clear days the Fife hills to the north. The igneous rock formations of the Salisbury Crags along the western flank are geologically significant.
