An open-air performance venue on a hillside in Tallinn, home to the Estonian Song Festival — a choral gathering held every five years since 1869 that played a central role in the peaceful Singing Revolution of 1987–91, during which an estimated 300,000 Estonians gathered here to sing national songs as a form of political resistance against Soviet rule. The curved limestone song stage, inaugurated in 1960, accommodates a choir of up to 30,000 singers and an audience of 100,000.
