A national park straddling the counties of Innlandet, Møre og Romsdal, and Trøndelag, protecting the Dovre mountain range and one of the last wild musk ox populations in Europe. The park covers approximately 4,367 square kilometres of high plateau, alpine ridges, and river valleys, and also supports wolverine, reindeer, Arctic fox, and golden eagle. The historic Pilgrim Route connecting Oslo to Nidaros Cathedral passes through the lower sections of the park.
