The sea cliffs at Vestmanna on western Streymoy rise several hundred metres from the ocean and are home to large colonies of seabirds including guillemots, puffins, razorbills, and kittiwakes. Boat tours departing from Vestmanna enter the narrow sea caves and tunnels at the cliff base, offering close views of the nesting ledges and the scale of the cliff faces. The trip is widely considered one of the defining experiences of the Faroe Islands.
