Hestur is a small island west of Streymoy in the Faroe Islands, its name meaning 'horse' due to its profile when seen from the sea. The island has a single village of the same name and a network of grassy hiking trails that traverse steep hillsides with views of Kirkjubøfjørður and the southern islands. It is significantly quieter than Streymoy and frequently visited for its sense of isolation and traditional Faroese rural landscape.
