Svínafellsjökull is an outlet glacier of Vatnajökull in southeast Iceland, flowing down through a wide valley floor that is accessible on a short walk from a roadside car park. The crevassed blue ice and medial moraines are clearly visible from the glacier's edge, and guided ice walks onto the surface run regularly from this location. The surrounding valley walls provide an elevated panoramic composition with the ice below.
