Alexander Calder's acoustic 'Clouds' float above the Aula Magna at the heart of Caracas's university city, one gesture in Carlos Raúl Villanueva's masterwork of modern campus design. Built between 1940 and 1960, the ensemble weaves buildings, covered walkways, art and tropical light into a single composition, from the Olympic Stadium to the Covered Plaza. UNESCO inscribed the Ciudad Universitaria in 2000.
