Known as the KVS, this Flemish theatre in central Brussels performs in a grand nineteenth-century building near the canal in the Dansaert quarter. It serves as a leading stage for Dutch-language and multilingual theatre in the bilingual capital and is known for socially engaged programming. A major restoration preserved the ornate historic auditorium while adding modern studio spaces. As the principal Flemish theatre of Brussels, it plays an important cultural role in a city divided between French and Dutch traditions.
