Opened in 1919 near the Opéra district of Paris, this theatre was built by a British impresario and originally modelled on London music halls. Over the years it has hosted operetta, ballet, variety and, more recently, long-running French productions of large-scale musicals. The auditorium seats roughly 1,600 across stalls and steep balconies, and its interior was refurbished for elaborate stage machinery. Its location north of the Grands Boulevards places it within the historic theatre quarter near the Palais Garnier.
