Torre Mayor is a skyscraper on the Paseo de la Reforma in Mexico City, completed in 2003 and rising about 225 metres, for years the tallest building in Latin America. Engineered with shock-absorbing dampers to withstand the earthquakes that shake the valley, it was a landmark of the capital's turn toward tall towers along its grand avenue. Its upper floors hold offices, and observation and event spaces near the top look out over the Chapultepec park, the sprawling metropolis and the ring of mountains and volcanoes.
