One of five great covered market halls opened in Budapest in the 1890s, this ornate brick building near the parliament district is admired for its decorative façade and fine ironwork. After decades of varied use it was restored, and today it combines a small food market with upscale gastronomy stalls and dining counters on its upper level. The elegant original structure, with tall arched windows and a patterned roof, exemplifies the ambitious municipal architecture of the era. It offers a refined culinary setting.
