Parco Sempione is a large landscaped park in central Milan, created in the late nineteenth century on the former parade ground behind the Sforza Castle. Designed in the English style, it links the medieval castle to the Arch of Peace at its far end, with winding paths, a lake and scattered monuments between them. The grounds contain the Triennale design museum, an aquarium and the Branca Tower, a slender steel viewing structure. Broad lawns and old trees make it central Milan's main green retreat.
