Wat Moha Montrei

Wat Moha Montrei is a mid-twentieth-century temple in Phnom Penh named after a high-ranking royal minister who helped fund its construction. Its ordination hall is notable for vivid wall murals depicting the life of the Buddha rendered in an unusual style, with figures dressed in traditional Cambodian attire against detailed backdrops. The bright yellow exterior and steeply tiered roofs make it stand out among the city's temples. Near the Olympic Stadium, it remains an active place of worship where monks reside and daily rituals continue.
