Schloss Bellevue is a neoclassical palace on the northern edge of the Tiergarten that serves as the official residence of the President of Germany. Built in 1786 for a Prussian prince, it was the first neoclassical building of its kind in the city and has since been restored after wartime damage. Its white facade and adjoining oval Langhans Hall host state ceremonies and the accreditation of ambassadors. Though not generally open to the public, the palace and its presidential standard are visible to those walking through the park.
