Museum of Cham Sculpture

This museum in Da Nang holds the world's largest collection of sculpture from the Champa kingdom that once ruled central Vietnam. Founded in the French colonial period, its open, garden-set pavilions display sandstone altars, deities and mythical creatures gathered from Cham temple sites across the region. The graceful dancing figures and Hindu iconography reveal strong links with Indian art. The airy tropical building and its serene courtyards make it a distinctive counterpoint to Vietnam's history museums.
