An art museum on the wooded outskirts of Copenhagen, based in a former country estate. It holds a distinguished collection of French Impressionist painting alongside Danish art of the same era. Works by Monet, Degas, Gauguin and Danish golden-age painters hang in the historic villa. A curving concrete extension by Zaha Hadid added modern gallery space, and a nearby house preserves the studio of the designer Finn Juhl. The parkland setting and sculpture make it a serene destination beyond the city centre.
