Museum für Fotografie

A photography museum near Zoologischer Garten station, housed in a former Prussian officers' casino. It centres on the legacy of the fashion and portrait photographer Helmut Newton, whose foundation occupies the lower floors with his images, cameras and personal effects. Upper galleries, run by the state art library, mount changing exhibitions spanning the history and techniques of photography. A grand restored ballroom on the top floor serves as a dramatic exhibition hall.
