A museum and gardens in Forest Hill founded by the Victorian tea trader Frederick Horniman to share his eclectic collections. Its holdings span anthropology, natural history and a renowned array of musical instruments from around the world. The most famous exhibit is an overstuffed walrus, mounted before taxidermists knew the animal's natural folds. An aquarium, a butterfly house and hillside gardens with city views surround the striking Arts and Crafts building, reflecting a Victorian appetite for gathering.
