This Anglican cathedral in the Ann Street precinct is notable as the last great Gothic Revival cathedral built with a fully stone-vaulted ceiling using traditional techniques. Begun in 1906, its construction stretched across more than a century, with the final stage completed in 2009. The soaring nave, carved stonework and stained glass reflect medieval English models adapted to Queensland. As the seat of the Anglican archbishop of Brisbane, it remains an active place of worship while welcoming visitors to admire its craftsmanship.
