This ornamental garden in the Canberra suburb of Nicholls displays finely detailed miniature buildings set among manicured lawns and hedges. Opened in 1979, it began with models of English village scenes and later added an international section with tiny replicas of landmarks contributed from around the world. A small steam-hauled railway carries visitors around part of the grounds, and the site includes a rose garden and cafe. The precision of the miniatures, complete with working elements and landscaped surrounds, makes it a favourite family.
