This cultural complex on a hillside above Quito preserves the home, collections and monumental works of Ecuadorian painter Oswaldo Guayasamín. The adjoining Chapel of Man is a vast concrete hall he conceived to display his large canvases on the suffering and resilience of Latin American peoples. The site also holds his personal collection of pre-Columbian and colonial art. With expansive views over the city and volcanoes, it stands as both a memorial to one of the country's most celebrated artists and a statement on human dignity.
