This isolated hill rising abruptly above the city of San Fernando is a landmark visible across much of southern Trinidad and holds cultural significance for the Indigenous peoples who once inhabited the area. Long quarried for stone, it was later reclaimed as a public recreation park with lookout points, walking trails, and picnic areas. From the summit the view sweeps over the Gulf of Paria and the surrounding plain. Its distinctive scarred profile makes it an emblem of the southern city.
