This forested ravine in the central highlands preserves a fragment of the tropical vegetation that once covered Barbados before sugar cultivation cleared it. Managed by the National Trust, the gully is a collapsed cave system whose walls are hung with stalactites and draped in bearded fig trees, palms, and spice plants. A shaded walking trail threads between limestone cliffs where green monkeys are frequently seen in the early morning. Labels identify nutmeg, clove, and other cultivated species along the route.
