A colossal marble statue of Jesus standing on a hillside in Casablanca across the harbour from the old city. Carved in Italy from Carrara marble and unveiled in 1958, it rises about twenty metres including its base and looks out over the port. A short ferry ride and a climb reward visitors with a sweeping panorama of Havana's skyline, the fortress and the bay. The surrounding terrace also gives access to a nearby lookout, making the crossing a popular half-day excursion from the centre.
