Run by the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute on the Amador Causeway, this small nature centre introduces visitors to the marine life of Panama's two oceans. Touch tanks, aquariums and a dry-forest trail showcase sea turtles, frogs, sloths and coastal birds. Interpretive exhibits explain the isthmus's role in joining the continents and separating the Atlantic and Pacific. Its shoreline setting offers views of ships approaching the canal and the city skyline across the bay.
