The Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village is an open-air living-history museum east of Edmonton that recreates the pioneer settlements founded by Ukrainian immigrants on the Canadian prairies. Restored and relocated buildings, from onion-domed churches to sod huts, farmhouses and a grain elevator, depict rural life in the early twentieth century. Costumed interpreters portray settlers going about seasonal work in the fields and homes. The site preserves a major chapter in the story of immigration and prairie settlement.
