Located near the Lincoln Memorial, this memorial honors those who served in the Korean War, a conflict once overshadowed and called the forgotten war. Its best-known feature is a group of nineteen stainless-steel statues depicting a squad on patrol, appearing to advance through rough terrain toward an American flag. A polished granite wall etched with faces of support personnel reflects the figures, effectively doubling their number. A more recent Wall of Remembrance lists the names of the American and allied dead.
