Poto-Poto

Poto-Poto is one of the oldest and most vibrant popular quarters of Brazzaville, famous as the home of a celebrated school of painting founded in the 1950s. The district's markets, bars and music halls have long nurtured Congolese urban culture and the rumba tradition. Its art school produced a recognisable style of small, colourful scenes of everyday life that spread its name internationally.
