The Cathedral of Our Lady of Victories, often called the Souvenir Africain, is the Roman Catholic cathedral of Dakar, completed in 1936. Its pale domed silhouette blends Byzantine and Sudano-Sahelian motifs, an unusual pairing meant to honour African Catholics who died in the First World War. The interior features mosaics and a broad nave beneath the central dome. Standing near the corniche, the cathedral is a prominent example of interwar religious architecture in French West Africa and remains an active seat of the archdiocese.
