State House is the official residence and office of the President of the Gambia, occupying a historic waterfront site in Banjul that dates to the colonial period. Set behind walls near the Atlantic shore, the complex hosts state functions and the machinery of the executive branch. Its location in the old heart of the capital reflects the continuity of government from British administration to independence and beyond. Though access is restricted, State House remains a central institution and a recognisable landmark of Banjul.
