A mud-brick palace complex built in the 1930s by King Abdulaziz as a residence and seat of government just outside the old walled city of Riyadh. Constructed in traditional Najdi style with thick earthen walls, wooden lintels and triangular window openings, it once formed part of a much larger royal quarter. Today it stands within the King Abdulaziz Historical Centre, restored and open to visitors. Inside, rooms display period furnishings, an old car and objects from the early years of the Saudi state, offering a window into the founding era.
