The main museum of Turkmenistan, housed in a grand marble building at the foot of the Kopet Dag mountains on the edge of Ashgabat. Its galleries display archaeology, ethnography and fine art, including finds from the ancient Parthian capital of Nisa and celebrated ivory drinking horns.
