One of the largest mosques in Central Asia, Hazrat Sultan opened in 2012 on the left bank of Astana and can hold around ten thousand worshippers. Named in honour of the Sufi teacher Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, it blends classical Islamic architecture with Kazakh ornamental motifs, crowned by a tall central dome and four slender minarets. Visitors walk through marble-lined prayer halls decorated with geometric patterns and calligraphy, and the surrounding plaza offers open views toward the nearby government district.
