A Dutch Reformed church in Colombo, Wolvendaal is one of the most important remnants of Dutch colonial rule in Sri Lanka. Built in the mid-eighteenth century in the shape of a Greek cross with thick walls and a solid, fortress-like appearance, it houses old Dutch furniture, memorial tablets and tombstones moved from earlier cemeteries. Its elevated position once overlooked the surrounding area, and the interior preserves a strong sense of the colonial past.
