Tucked into a fold of the Margalla Hills on the edge of Islamabad, this centuries-old settlement has been restored as a heritage and dining destination while retaining its old streets and shrines. The village contains a Hindu temple, a Sikh gurdwara and an Ottoman-era mosque, reflecting the layered communities that once lived here. Restored mud-brick houses now hold restaurants, craft shops and cafes along stone lanes climbing the hillside, making it a popular evening outing from the capital.

Where next?

The world is wide open.
