A lone red-brick and granite clock tower on the Kowloon waterfront, the last remnant of the former Kowloon–Canton Railway terminus that once linked Hong Kong to the mainland. Completed in 1915, its forty-four-metre spire marked the arrival point for generations of travellers stepping off trains bound for Europe by rail and sea. The surrounding station was demolished, leaving the tower as a protected monument beside the cultural centre and harbour promenade. It stands as a nostalgic symbol of the colony's role as a gateway between East and West.
