A five-storey Ming-dynasty watchtower crowning Yuexiu Hill in central Guangzhou, first built in the 1380s and long an emblem of the city, also known as the Five-Storey Pagoda. Its red walls and tiered roofs rise above the surrounding park, and it now houses the Guangzhou Museum, whose displays trace two thousand years of local history through pottery, bronzes and trade relics. Old cannons and a stretch of city wall stand nearby. Visitors climb the tower for skyline views and browse the historical collection inside.
