A specialist museum devoted to Chinese tea culture, spread across landscaped grounds among the Longjing tea hills southwest of Hangzhou's West Lake. Pavilion-style buildings amid working terraces trace the history of tea cultivation, processing, trade and preparation across the dynasties. Displays include historic utensils, ceramics, tea bricks and reconstructed tea-house settings. Visitors wander the terraces where prized Longjing green tea grows, sample brews in tasting rooms and learn the rituals of one of China's defining beverages.
