This row of three adjoining dwellings on Maza Pils Street forms the oldest surviving group of houses in Riga's old town. Each was built in a different era, from the late fifteenth to the seventeenth century, illustrating how domestic architecture evolved over two hundred years. The oldest features a stepped Gothic gable, while its neighbours show Renaissance and Mannerist details. Together they now house the Latvian Museum of Architecture. Their resemblance to the Three Sisters in Tallinn makes the pair a favourite comparison for travellers.
