The Serdica archaeological complex preserves the excavated remains of Roman and late-antique Sofia, displayed in and around a central metro station and pedestrian area. Visitors walk among paved streets, foundations of houses, an early church, and public buildings that formed the city Emperor Constantine once favoured. Glass panels and open-air terraces let people view the ruins alongside modern life above. Interpretive signs explain the layout of ancient Serdica, making the site an accessible open-air window into the city's classical past.
