The Bridge of Lies is a small wrought-iron footbridge in Sibiu, cast in 1859 and among the oldest of its kind in Romania. It spans a former moat linking the upper and lower parts of the old town beside the Council Tower. Local legends claim the bridge creaks or collapses when someone tells a lie on it, tied to old tales of dishonest merchants and broken promises. Its decorative ironwork and photogenic setting near the Small Square make it a popular stop on walks through the historic centre.
