Stretching along the west bank of the Po river, this is one of the oldest and most popular public parks in Turin, laid out in the 19th century with tree-lined avenues, lawns and riverside promenades. Within its grounds stand a grand riverside castle used for exhibitions and the Medieval Village, a full-scale reconstruction of a fortified hamlet built for a historic fair. Rowing clubs line the water, and paths draw joggers, students and families all year. In late spring the botanical garden and flowerbeds are at their most colourful.
