Occupying a medieval palace beside the Uffizi and the river, this museum is dedicated to the history of science and holds an exceptional collection of instruments. Antique globes, astrolabes, telescopes and elaborate armillary spheres trace the growth of astronomy and navigation across the centuries. Among its most famous objects are two original telescopes made by Galileo and a preserved relic of the scientist himself. Reconstructions of historic experiments explain how the instruments were used.
