Housed in the Palazzo dell'Arengario beside the cathedral square, this museum is devoted to Italian art of the 20th century. A spiral ramp leads visitors upward past Futurist canvases, works of the Novecento movement and later currents, arranged to trace the century's shifts. A highlight is the room devoted to Umberto Boccioni, displayed against wide windows over the piazza. From the upper floor a glass-walled hall frames a direct view of the cathedral's marble flank, one of the finest indoor vantage points in the city.
