This grand neoclassical exhibition hall on Via Nazionale opened in 1883 as a venue for large art and cultural shows, and it remains one of the principal spaces for temporary exhibitions in the city. Its columned facade and central rotunda lead to flexible galleries that host retrospectives, photography, and science displays, along with a cinema and auditorium. Renovated in the early twenty-first century, it added a cafe and a rooftop restaurant. Free of a permanent collection, its programme changes frequently.
