The Leipzig Panometer is an exhibition space housed in a former gasometer, showing enormous 360-degree panoramic images created by the artist Yadegar Asisi. The name blends panorama with gasometer, and inside the round industrial shell a huge printed canvas wraps the entire wall, viewed from a central platform. Changing installations have recreated scenes such as ancient Rome, the Amazon rainforest, the sunken Titanic, and the Battle of Leipzig in vivid detail. Lighting and sound cycle through the passage of a day.
